Hobbies and Pastimes
As far as today is concerned it is more a computer hobby day for me,still trying to learn computerese,
mistakes keep happening, as I struggle to understand the language!
Hobbies should be something that allows you to unwind from the stresses and strains of the
daily grind. So really computing cant be called a hobby nor a pastime , yet millions of
people all over the world are oblivious to anything going on about them and are stuck
in front of their glowing screen for hours on end,(me amongst them).
.
Most of them able to sit back at the end of the day satisfied with what they have achieved(me only occasionally I`m afraid) but I must admit, when it all goes right,the feeling of triumph is really great.
So all in all I guess that working computers may not be termed a hobby nor a pastime,but
it definitely qualifies as an obsession! So we are back to looking at those simple pastimes that
after a day working out on your computer you are happy to indulge in, a drink with the lads, a
night on the town, a game of poker, or golf, even a night in with the wife planning your vacation. So look at it this way, hobbies, pastimes or obsessions are all part of what makes us unique
and sets us apart from the animal kingdom(well I`ve never seen a gorilla playing golf have
you?lol).
I suppose we should all endevour to keep active(in mind and body) whatever life
chucks at us through the years. Gardening calms the mind and exercises the body, football
excites the mind and gives the body a great workout,and computing works the mind, but leaves
your back stiff your eyes sore and your brain in tatters! (Well mine anyway) which is why as you
make your weary way to bed that mind of yours mind is already busy planning your next day ahead ,
so sleep well and make sure to set the alarm ,because tomorrow is another day! |
